Dr. Rebecca Quinn earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University in 2005 and completed a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Referral Center & ER Center of Connecticut in 2006.
She completed her residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at Texas A&M University in 2009 and her residency in Cardiology at Angell Animal Medical Center (AMC) in 2012. After completing her training programs, she remained at Angell AMC until 2020, working as a medical and surgical cardiologist, clinical researcher, cardiology residency director, and as part of the intern selection committee.
In 2020 she moved to Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists, where she revived the cardiology service and continues to practice medical cardiology. While not practicing in the clinic, she serves as a reviewer for several journals and consults and local zoos and aquariums.
Dr. Quinn has a special interest in medical management of chronic acquired cardiac disease. She is particularly interested in geriatric patients and those patients with cardiac disease complicated by other illnesses. Specifically, feline patients with heart disease in combination with diabetes mellitus or hyperthyroidism, patients with cardiorenal syndrome (both heart disease and kidney disease), arrhythmias secondary to non-cardiac medical conditions, and pulmonary hypertension.
Dr. Quinn and her family live part time in Boston and part time on a small Cape Cod island. Along with her husband and daughter, her family includes 4 cats, 3 chickens, and honeybees. Her other interests include horseshoe crabs, perfect sunrises, stormy days, epic sci-fi/fantasy novels, and hosting family suppers.
